World Health Day celebrated on 7th April 2024

On 7th April 2024 World Health Day was celebrated by IRCS Kolhapur District Branch by organising a health check-up camp at Red Cross Swayam Special Children School in collaboration with Meera Nursing Home. Dr Meera Kulkarni & her team conducted the camp. Health card of each student was handed over to their parents.

Golden Jubilee Celebration Of Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre

Rajarshi Shahu Blood Bank Trust, Kolhapur celebrated its Golden Jubilee on 24th March 2024. The Chief Guest of the Golden Jubilee function was Padmashree Dr.Pratapsinh Jadhav. President of Kolhapur Medical Association Dr.Kiran Doshi was also invited.

During this function Padmashree Dr. Pratapsinh Jadhav presented NABH Accreditation Certificate and felicitated its consultants Dr. Afrin Naikwadi & Ketaki Desai.

On this auspicious occasion there was inauguration of new Cryofuge (blood processing) machine donated by Shri. Deepak Bapusaheb Jadhav and Shri.Bharat Bapusaheb Jadhav in loving memory of Late Shri Bapusaheb Jadhav and NAT testing machine which is an ultramodern testing technology.

They felicitated Indian Red Cross Society, Kolhapur District Branch’s Vice - President Shri. V. B. Patil and Hon.Secretary Shri. Satishraj Jagdale for theirsupport to blood bank of a blood collection van and other equipments to Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre received through IRCS, National Headquarters, New Delhi.

Republic Day Celebrated on 26th January 2024

On 26th January 2024 Republic day was celebrated at Swayam Special Children's School run
by Indian Red Cross Society Kolhapur District Branch. Indian Flag unfurled by Shri Abhay Deshpande – Famous Industrialist, Rocktech Engineers &Shri Aditya Deshpande -Builder Developer. The students of Special school presented three dances on this occasion and were given prizes for their various activities. Snacks & sweets were distributed. The members of Rotary clubs and various other organisations along with office bearers &executive members of Indian Red Cross Society Kolhapur District Branch were present.

International day for Disabled Persons celebrated on 3rd December 2023

On 3rd December 2023 IRCS Kolhapur District Branch celebrated International day for Disabled Persons at Swayam Special Children's School run by IRCS Kolhapur District Branch. Various games were played to entertain the children and also shown “Mowgli” movie.

A cultural program for Divyang was organised by Department of Social Justice &Special Assistance (Samaj Kalyan Vibhag), Zilla Parishad, Kolhapur. Master Parth Sutar of Swayam School earned second place for the school in drawing competition

SEWA PAKHWADA CELEBRATED FROM 17TH SEPT. 2023 TO 2ND OCT 2023

Blood donation drives organised by Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre run by IRCS Kolhapur in various places during the Sewa Pakhwada held from the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi-ji on 17th September 2023 to Mahatma Gandhiji’s birthday on 2nd October 2023 also covered the national voluntary blood donation day organised on 1st October 2023 every year. Total 317 units collected.

Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre, Kolhapur is jointly run by IRCS Kolhapur District Branch & Rotary Samaj Seva Kendra, Kolhapur.

Mobile Blood Collection Van donated by IFRC through IRCS National Headquarters, New Delhi & facilitated by IRCS Maharashtra State Branch to Kolhapur Red Cross was handed over for operational purposes to Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre under the direct supervision/control & ownership of Kolhapur Red Cross Branch. Hon'ble Member of Parliament Shri Sharad Pawar Ji was the Chief Guest during the ceremony on 26th August, 2023. Kolhapur Red Cross Branch managing committee members, staff & Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre staff were present on the occasion.

Independence Day celebrations on 15th August 2023

On 15th August 2023 Indian Red Cross Society Kolhapur celebrated Independence Day at their Swayam Special Children's School. The flag hoisting was done at the hands of Dr. Vilas Naik and Dr. Shraddha Vilas Naik. The renowned Diamond Hospital at Kolhapur is run by them. The children of Swayam School put up an excellent show on this occasion which was greatly appreciated. The managing committee, staff of school, volunteers and well-wishers were present.

Two blood camps were organised by the Kolhapur Red Cross Branch in their blood collection van on 23rd July and 15th August 2023 at Menon & Menon engineering company at Kagal, MIDC area and at Kolhapur Medical Association respectively. Total 74 units were collected

Art festival of Swayam Special children arranged as part of the World Red Cross week

Branch runs a school for special children known as Swayam School. To enhance the capabilities, confidence, creativity and self reliance a "Swayam Arts Festival" of paintings by these children from 13th May to 15th May, 2023 were exhibited. Office bearers, school staff were present. Local authorities and media showered accolades.

The Art festival of Swayam Special children was arranged as part of the World Red Cross week.

World Red Cross Day celebrated on 8th May, 2023

On 8th May 2023 on the occasion of World Red Cross Day the bust of Founder Sir Jean Henry Dunant was garlanded at the hands of Shri. Shriniwas Malu, Chairman. Importance of Red Cross day was highlighted by Ar. Satishraj Jagdale Hon.Secretary, IRCS Kolhapur District Branch executive committee members & Swayam special school staff were present. Further a blood donation camp was organised on 9th May 2023 by Rajarshi Shahu Blood Centre at Mai Hyundai showroom Kolhapur and 45 blood unit collected. Kolhapur District Branch adopts 50 tuberculosis patients

District Collector Hon’ble Shri Rahul Rekhawar distributed nutritional kits at Chhatrapati Shahuji Dalan, Collector's Office and appreciated the decision of "Red Cross".
