Visit by Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais ji

Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and President of Indian Red Cross Society Maharashtra State Branch Shri Ramesh Bais ji visited Wardha District on 9th December 2023. Dr. Sachin Pawade & Dr. Anand Gadhavkar - Exe. Committee Members of Wardha Red Cross along with Arvi Red Cross Hon. Secretary Dr. Abhilash Dharamthok were present & apprised him of all the Branch activities. On this occasion the Hon’ble Governor lauded the work done by Wardha Red Cross and assured of all possible guidance and wished them all success for their future endeavours.

Blood donation & blood check-up camp organised on the occasion of Navaratri
(21st October 2023)
Indian Red Cross Society, Wardha District Branch on the occasion of Navaratri a blood donation and blood check-up camp was organised at Maa Vaisnodham, Wardha on 21st October 2023. A total of 21 blood donors donated blood in the camp while 103 attendees did blood test. Team from General Hospital, Wardha collected the blood.

Awareness programme on insect related disease conducted at Yashwant High school, Ghorad
(20th September 2023)
On 20th September 2023 an awareness programme on insect related disease was conducted at Yashwant High school, Ghorad, Taluka- Selu, District- Wardha for students by Vaidhyakiya Janjagruti Manch, Indian Red Cross Society, Wardha, Public Health department, Selu & Yashwant Vidyalaya, Ghorad.

On this occasion Dr. Sachin Pawade, Renowned Child Specialist, Wardha & Chairman Vaidhyakiya Janjagruti Manch gave a session on awareness & protection about insect related diseases (Dengue & Scrub Typhus) to students. The Taluka Health officer Dr. Prashant Wadibhasme appealed to students to take an oath to control insects & waterborne diseases. The advantage of eco-friendly immersion of Ganesh idols was highlighted by Hon. Secretary, Wardha Mr. Shyam Bhende. Pamphlets about awareness on insect related diseases were distributed on this occasion.

All committee members & staff of the above organizations were present.

Independence Day celebrated on 15th August 2023

15th August 2023 on the occasion of Independence Day IRCS Wardha District Branch organised a rural health awareness cycle rally (total 30 km) in association with Young Cycle Riders & various social organisations of Wardha. The main motive of this rally was to spread awareness on safety measures of vector and waterborne diseases by renowned doctors like Dr. Sachin Pawade, Dr. Rajesh Sarode, Dr. Prashant Wadibhasme, Dr. Anand Ghadaokar,Dr. Radhakrishna Sayare, Dr. Chandrakant Jadhav, Dr. Pravin Satputre and others at Nalwadi, Pawnar, Surgaon, Yelakeli and Pipri.Including doctors, more than 50 people participated in the cycle rally.

Camps for re-examination for malnutrition children at Surgaon, Dahegaon and Zadshi villages

IRCS, Wardha District Branch on 18th, 21st and 26th July 2023 organised camps for re-examination for malnutrition children (total 385) after 3 months of age 0 to 6 years at Surgaon, Dahegaon and Zadshi villages respectively. Also provided with required medicines, proteins etc. Renowned child specialist Dr Sachin Pawade,THO Dr. Prashant Wadibhasme, Dr. Nikhil Talhan and Dr. Anand Gadhowkar along with Sarpanch’s of all the villages were present. In addition pulseoxymeters were distributed to all the Asha workers and Primary Health Centres.

Indian Red Cross Society, Wardha District Branch on 4th , 7th , 11th and 14th July 2023 organised camps for re-examination of malnutrition children (total 270) after 3 months of age 0 to 6 years at Ghorad, Antargaon, Wadgaon and Takali villages respectively. Also provided the required medicines, proteins etc. Renowned child specialist Dr Sachin Pawade, Hon’ble THO Dr. Prashant Wadibhasme and Dr. Anand Gadhowkar along with Sarpanch’s of all the villages were present. In addition pulseoxymeters were distributed to all the Asha workers and Primary Health Centres.

Re-examination camp for malnourished children of age 0 to 6 years

On 28th June 2023 Indian Red Cross Society, Wardha organised a re-examination camp for malnourished children of age 0 to 6 years (total 42) which were examined 3 months ago at Yelakeli, Tehsil, Dis.– Wardha. They were also provided with required medicine, proteins by renowned child specialist Dr. Sachin Pawade. Taluka Health Officer Dr. Prashant Wadibhasme, Dr. Anand Gadhowkar and Sarpanch Smt. Bharti Chalakh with other community health officers were present.

Cleaning drive of Dham River at Pawnar

On 27th June 2023 Indian Red Cross Society Wardha District Branch in collaboration with local NGOs and District Administration, Wardha, organised a cleaning drive of Dham River at Pawnar and cleaned all the trash, garbage especially plastic and water pollutants. The river which is responsible to provide drinking water to Wardha city and nearby villages. Hon’ble Collector Shri Rahul Kardile (IAS), Shri Ramesh Kolape - Tehsildar, Shri Nshikant Shinde -BDO, Smt. Shalini Admane – Sarpanch, Pawnar along with all the members of Gram Panchayat Pawnar, members of IRCS and Hon. Secretary Shri Shyam Bhende were present. 3 to 4 tons of garbage was cleaned from the river.

International Yoga Day celebrated on 21st June 2023

International Yoga Day was celebrated by IRCS Wardha District Branch on 21st June 2023 in association with Young Cycle Riders group, Wardha and Medical Awareness Forum in Pawnar on the banks of Dham River. Yog Guru Smt. Pranita Deshmukh conducted the program. She emphasized daily one hour yoga for fitness.

Morning walk group and various health related local medical forum representatives were present including Wardha Red Cross office bearers and managing committee members. The program ended by a slogan "Karo Yog Raho Nirog".

World Red Cross Day celebrated on 8th May, 2023

On 8th May 2023 on the occasion of World Red Cross Day, tree plantation and rapid solid forest plantation was launched at Oxygen Park, Wardha by IRCS Wardha District Branch. Organized awareness program in various talukas about the adverse health effects due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers and medicines and guide the farmer to use organic fertilizer. Also conducted road safety awareness for two wheeler drivers and urged to use helmet. Office bearers and members of Wardha Red Cross were present.

Health check-up with distribution of multivitamins, iodine (medicines) for specially abled students

Collaborating with Social Justice Department of Maharashtra, Indian Red Cross Society Wardha organised health check-up with distribution of multivitamins, iodine etc (medicines) for specially abled students (deaf and dumb) at Shardha Mukhbadir Vidhyala Wardha on 7th April 2023 on the occasion of World Health Day. Renowned child specialist Dr Sachin Pawade & Mr. Shyam Bhende Hon. Secretary were present. This would be continued for a month till 1st May, 2023 in three other schools

Camp for malnourished children in rural areas

Indian Red Cross Society, Wardha under the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme Project, Wardha-1&2 organized on 17th March 2023 at Z.P. Sabhagruh, Wardha wherein 222 malnourished children in rural areas underwent check-ups. Dr. Sachin Pawade, Dr.Shantanu Chavan,Dr.Swapnil Talvekar, Dr.Amol Lohakare, Dr.Ashish Varma, Dr. Ajinkya Wazarkar also counselled their mothers regarding proper nutrition. C.E.O. Zilla Parishad Wardha, Mr.Rohan Ghuge, Dy.C.E.O.Mr Sunil Mesare, T.H.O. Wardha Dr.Madhuri Dighekar, IRCS Secretary Mr. Shyam Bhende and other Branch members were present.

Distribution of Pulse Oximeters and Home-based new-born care (HBNC) kits

On 15th March 2023 Pulse Oximeters and Home-based new-born care (HBNC) kits distributed to ASHA workers along with their coordinatorsby IRCS Wardha Branchin collaboration with local Health Department, Wardha. Total 144 pulse oximeters distributed.

Holi celebration with orphans and specially challenged at Shardha Mukhbadir Vidhyala

On 7th March 2023 IRCS Wardha celebrated Holi with orphans and specially challenged ( deaf and dumb and blind) at Shardha Mukhbadir Vidhyala [orphanage]. Distributed sweets, natural colours and face masks with an object of spreading love & happiness.

On 23rd January 2023 IRCS, Wardha District Branch organized a health check-up for malnourished children and mothers in rural areas under the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme Project, Wardha-1.Paediatricspecialist Dr. Sachin Pawade rendered his service along with awareness on malnutrition causes and remedies.

On 22nd January 2023 Public awareness program on Breast & Cervical Cancer along with distribution of Pulse oximeters to ASHA workers was organised by IRCS Wardha District Branch in collaboration with Vaidhyakiya Janajagruti Manch, Wardha.

Collector and Red Cross President of Wardha Hon’ble Shri Rahul Kardile and CEO Zilla Parishad Shri Ghuge inaugurated the program. Mr Kishor Mathankar,Dr Arun Pawade, Dr Sachin Pawade and Mr Shyam Bhende secretary were present.
