On 26th January 2024 Republic Day was celebrated by IRCS Bhandara District Branch. On this occasion 124th issue of Red Cross Sandesh (quarterly newsletter of IRCS Bhandara District Branch)was released by Hon’ble Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit – Minister for Tribal Development, Govt. of Maharashtra. Office bearers & managing committee members of Bhandara Red Cross were present.

Visit by Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais ji

Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and President of the IRCS Maharashtra State Branch Shri Ramesh Bais ji visited Shahpur village in Bhandara district on 8th December 2023. On this occasion, he released the 124th issue of Bhandara Red Cross Sandesh (Quarterly Newsletter). Bhandara Red Cross Chairman Dr. Ashokrao Brahmankar, Vice-President Dr. Chandra Mohan Gupta and office bearers of Bhandara Red Cross were present. They apprised him of the activities of Bhandara Red Cross. The Hon’ble Governor wished them all success for their future endeavours.

World Red Cross Day celebrated on 8th May, 2023

On 8th May 2023 World Red Cross day was celebrated at Bhandara District Branch with active participation of JRC/YRC at Jakatdar Kanya Vidyalaya & Jr. College, Bhandara. Summer camp was organised for 10 days from 2ndto 12th May 2023 with Forest Dept, Yuvak Biradari & others joined.

Multifaceted activities like garlanding photo of the founder Sir Henry Dunant & address by the Chairman, Hon.Sec & Treasurer of the Branch. Mr Rohit Chokhunde, Director, Bhandara Dist. Scout & Guide demonstrated the reef knot & other procedures utilised for rescue during disaster like flood etc. Competitions were held in painting,games,storytelling, yoga and extempore speech. Nutrition value of millets in diet was explained as per national policy.

District Collector,District Superintendent of Police, Principals of schools & junior colleges graced the prolonged program.This activity is being conducted since last 31 years.

Mega health check-up camp was organised in association with Kirti Multi-speciality Hospital Bhandara

On 1st May 2023 mega health check-up camp was organised by Indian Red Cross Society Bhandara District Branch in association with Kirti Multi-speciality Hospital Bhandara. Total 66 free sonography were performed including 2D Cardiac echo. Dr Professor Sanjay Raut, Dr Manish Ganwani and Dr. Nitin Turaskar conducted the camp. Dr. Sneha collected 10 Pap smears for CA cervix and around 12mammographies were performed.

General health, dental & eye check-up camp for villagers of Lohara and Jawahar Nagar Taluka

On 15th April 2023 Indian Red Cross Society, Bhandara District Branch under “Aao Gao Chale Project” conducted general health, dental & eye check-up camp for villagers of Lohara and Jawahar Nagar Taluka, Dist. Bhandara in association with Shri Satya Sai Seva Samiti and Jawahar Nagar Senior Citizens Group under the guidance of Dr. C.M. Gupta, Vice-President. IRCS Bhandara District Branch, Dr.Nitin Turaskar and his team of doctors participated in this noble work.

Apada Mitra Prashikshan (First Aid and Disaster Management) program was held at Ravanvadi Tehsil, Bhandara

Apada Mitra Prashikshan (First Aid and Disaster Management) program was held from 31.03.2023 to 02.04.2023 at Ravanvadi Tehsil, Bhandara. Dr. Nitin Turaskar Hon Sec Bhandara District was the convener and lead speaker which was organised by the Disaster Cell, Collectorate Bhandara. The demonstration was led by Jeevan Suraksha team from Nagpur. Present were Dr. Ashokrao Brahmankar, Dr. C M Gupta Vice President of Bhandara Red Cross, Mr. Abhishek Namdas DDMO and Dr. Shyam Laddha physiotherapist who were all a guiding force behind this event.

Awareness camp on family planning to keep population explosion under control at Kamgar Kalyan Kendra Bhandara
