Head Neck Cancer screening camp was organised at IRCS, Rasta Peth, Pune

Head Neck Cancer screening camp was organised at IRCS, Rasta Peth, Pune on 26th July 2023.
The objectives of the camp was to detect precancers and early cancers of the mouth and throat, by screening AT-RISK population, i.e. tobacco users, both smoked and chewed(smokeless) and/or alcohol users, initiate investigations and treatment wherever feasible and to provide guidance to patient and family members regarding cessation of tobacco use.
A total of 14 patients, 7 males and 7 females, attended the camp, of which 10 patients were found to be normal. All patients were counselled and 4 were referred to the dental department for sharp/carious teeth. 3 of the females were found to be clinically anaemic. 2 patients were evaluated for thyroid disorders.

Pune Red Cross Branch organised a 4 day state level youth camp from 25th May to 28th May in association with Bharatiya Jain Group of colleges of Arts, Science & Agriculture, Wagholi, Pune. Camp emphasized on disaster management, primary first aid and youth leadership development skills.

Interactive sessions covered History of Red Cross, First Aid & CPR, Traffic control rules, women safety & cyber crime, de-addiction & youth, blood donation awareness, disaster management, fire fighting, climate change, role of youth in prevention of terrorism (this special topic /session was lead by Lt. Gen D G Shekatkar PVSM, AVSM, VSM ), Youth Red Cross activities, psychological problems and youth and the evils of blind faith.
