Mega Blood Donation camp at Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hall
(21st April 2024)
On 21st April 2024 a Mega Blood Donation camp was held at Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hall, near Civil Line Police Station, Akola. This camp was organised by Rashtriya Vichar Manch, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Indian Medical Association (IMA), Indian Red Cross Society Akola District Branch and Dr. Hedgewar Blood Centre. Total 165 units collected which included 12 women donors.
Education program for underprivileged children
(10th February 2024)
On 10th February 2024 education program for underprivileged children was undertaken at IRCS Akola premises by Astitva Foundation, Akola under Gurukul Initiative. Astitva Foundation thanked the Akola Red Cross for providing space for the program
Republic Day Celebrated on 26th January 2024

On 26th January 2024 Republic Day was celebrated by Indian Red Cross Society Akola District Branch at Red Cross premises. Flag unfurled by Dr. Kishor Malokar – Chairman, Akola Red Cross. Office bearers & managing committee members of Akola Red Cross were present on this occasion.
Road Safety Week celebrated on 25th January 2024

On 25th January 2024 on the occasion of Road Safety Week Indian Red Cross Society Akola District Branch Hon’ble Collector & President Shri Ajit Kumbhar released a poster on awareness of use of helmet (HELMET). Each alphabet was given a meaning H- Head, E – Eyes, L – Lip, M- Mouth, E-Ears & T- Teeth. Mr. Prabhjeet Singh Bachher – Hon. Secretary and office bearers of Akola Red Cross were present.
Blankets and school bags distribution program for needy children
(26th December 2023)
On 26th December 2023 on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas Indian Red Cross Society Akola District Branch organised blankets and school bags distribution program for needy children in the presence of Sardar Gurbaksh Singh Sandhu recipient of Dronacharya Award (Boxing).Well-wishers Mr. Satish Bhatt & Mr. Kanhaiyalal Rangwani along with committee member Adv. S .S. Thakur ji and Mr. P. S. Bachher – Hon. Secretary, Akola Red Cross were present. Total 50 children benefited.
Independence Day celebrated on 15th August 2023

On 15th August 2023 on the occasion of Independence Day (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) Indian Red Cross Society, Akola District Branch organised sports & cultural festival at Vasant Desai Stadium, Akola in association with District Sports Administration and various sports & cultural organisations
Visit by Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra to Akola
(12th June 2023)
IRCS Akola District Branch managing committee members extended a courtesy visit to Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra & President of IRCS Maharashtra State Branch Shri Ramesh Bais ji during his visit to Akola and apprised him of all the Branch activities. On this occasion the Hon’ble Governor lauded the work done by Akola Red Cross and assured of all possible assistance for the proposed hospital project by Akola Red Cross at the MIDC Akola.
World Red Cross Day celebrated on 8th May, 2023

On 8th May 2023 on the occasion of World Red Cross Day IRCS Akola District Branch also celebrated World Haemophilia Day. Local media “City News” appreciated the services of Akola Red Cross for past 89 years and mentioned the present activities and their vision for mankind. On this occasion the Gandhi-Jawahar Baug, Akola was illuminated.
Maharashtra Day celebrated by IRCS Akola District Branch

On 1st May 2023 on the occasion of Maharashtra Day IRCS Akola District Branch office bearers paid tribute to Late Smt. Nirmala Deshpande on her fifteenth death anniversary a noted Indian social activist who had embraced Gandhi and philosophy and an eminent International peace leader. She was awarded Padma Vibhushan award in 2006. To commemorate the occasion homeopathy medicine for prevention of sun stroke were distributed by IRCS Akola District Branch in collaboration with Dr. Chavan Homeopathic Clinic, Akola to the needy migrant construction labourers, field staff of police, Municipal Corporation various department staff etc. Dr. Malokar Chairman Akola Branch and other office bearers including Adv.S.S.Thakur, Adv. Subhash Mungi, Adv.Mahendra Sahu, Hon. Sec. P.S.Bachher and others were present. This initiative will be continued till 8thMay 2023
Mitra Day was celebrated by MSEDCL in Maharashtra in recognition of the work of linemen

On 4th March 2023 Jan Mitra Day was celebrated by MSEDCL in Maharashtra in recognition of the work of lineman who ensures the continuous supply of electricity.


IRCS Akola organised a program to appreciate the dedication of the technicians at Sardar Ji Dhaba .Technicians under fuse call centre -7 (FCC-7) along with Assistant Engineer Mr. AshishRathi and Additional Executive Engineer Mr. Ganesh Mahajan were present. They were very thankful for their recognition by Red Cross.
Basic First Aid training with Divya Marathi newspaper publication
