World Health Day celebrated on 7th April 2024

On 7th April 2024 on the occasion of World Health Day IRCS Jalgaon District Branch distributed hygiene kits at Harijan Girls School, Shivajinagar and Girls observation Home, Jalgaon. Sanitary napkins were also distributed to women as “housekeeping” workers at Tambapur area. Talk by the Jalgaon Red Cross Branch staff on health care management.

Also Aai Hospital Yashodai Blood Storage Center at Erandol under the Indian Red Cross Society Blood Center Jalgaon Mother Blood Center was inaugurated. Doctors, social workers, blood donation camp organizers and dignitaries from the talukas of Erandol, Dharangaon, Kasoda,Parola & Bhadgaon along with office bearers of Jalgaon Red Cross were present on the occasion. The equipments at the newly inaugurated storage centre was donated by India Ratings & Research a Fitch Group Company and facilitated by Indian Red Cross Society Maharashtra State Branch.

Republic Day Celebrated on 26th January 2024

On 26th January 2024 Republic Day was celebrated by Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch. Hon’ble Collector & Jalgaon Red Cross President Shri Ayush Prasad (IAS) unfurled the Indian flag at Red Cross Bhawan in the presence of his wife Dr. Indrani Mishra.Office bearers, managing committee members, staff, volunteers and well-wishers of Jalgaon Red Cross were present on this occasion. Followed by sweets, blankets & hygiene kits were distributed to needy children.
Also organised blood donation camps in various places in Jalgaon i.e. Paladhi Pahur, Jamner, Adavad, Swami Samarth Center, Dental Association& Happy Thoughts. Total 346 units collected.

Mobile Health check-up camp at Khedi, Jalgaon

On 17th January 2024 a Mobile Health check-up camp was organised by Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch at Khedi, Jalgaon with the aid of Mobile Health Unit donated by IRCS, National Headquarters New Delhi supported by Canadian Red Cross. Total 34 patients were examined.

Awareness program on road safety at Kendriya Vidyalaya
(15th January 2024)
On 15th January 2024 IRCS Jalgaon District Branch organised an awareness program on road safety and care under the road safety campaign of the traffic department at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Uttar Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.

Member of Red Cross Mr. Dattatraya Mahajan guided the students about care to be taken while driving, traffic rules, information about signals, importance of using helmets etc.

Mrs. Ujwala Verma PRO highlighted on importance of life & family and she appealed to keep following the traffic rules. On this occasion the Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Shri. Sona Kumar, coordinating staff Ms. Meenakshi Patil and 170 students of 8th to 10th Std along with teaching staff were present.

Distribution of sewing machines to disabled and needy women for self-employment
(7th November 2023)
On 7th November 2023 Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch distributed 10 sewing machines to disabled and needy women of Jalgaon district towards the objective of self-employment. These machines were received from IRCS, National Headquarters, New Delhi. Jalgaon Red Cross gave them assurance that they would propagate their sewing made items to various related companies.

First Aid workshop with Maharashtra State Highway Police at Paladhi, Jalgaon

On 1st November 2023 a First Aid workshop was conducted by IRCS Jalgaon District Branch in association with Maharashtra State Highway Police at Paladhi, Jalgaon under “Mrityunjay Doot” an initiative by Maharashtra State Highway Police during accidents on highways.Total 60 participants were trained. Police officials from Nashik and Dhule spoke on measures to be taken on accident site.

First aid training conducted for the employees of Siddharth Cargochem Product Limited

First aid training conducted by Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch for the employees of Siddharth Cargochem Product Limited on 17th October 2023. Training was imparted by Mr. Trimbak Mahajan,Mr. Ghanshyam Mahajan and Mrs.Ujwala Varma. Total 14 participants were trained.

SEWA PAKHWADA CELEBRATED FROM 17TH SEPT. 2023 TO 2ND OCT 2023

Blood donation drives organised by IRCS Blood Centre, Jalgaon in various places during the Sewa Pakhwada held from the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi-ji on 17th September 2023 to Mahatma Gandhiji’s birthday on 2nd October 2023 also covered the national voluntary blood donation day organised on 1st October 2023 every year. Total 196 units collected

Health checkup camps organized in Jalgoan

Shalem Raju working in the district by TISS, Mumbai organized a health checkup camp with the help of Indian Red Cross Society, Jalgaon District Branch on 20th September 2023. In this, patient examination, treatment, diagnosis of diseases and further treatment were guided. Mr. Dushant Bambode MGNF (Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship) assisted in this.

On 22nd September 2023 a health check-up camp was organized by Jalgaon Red Cross in association with Jagruti Ganapati Mandal for women and senior citizens at Bhadgaon. Random sugar, B.P, ECG etc was checked, followed by consultancy of all ailments. Large numbers benefitted.

Mega blood donation camp at R.C. Patel Institute of Technology, Shirpur

On 13th September 2023 on the occasion of Hon’ble MLA & Chairman of Shirpur Education Society Shri Amrishbhai Patel's birthday, Indian Red Cross Society Blood Center Jalgaon in collaboration with Mukeshbhai Charitable Trust organized a mega blood donation camp at R.C. Patel Institute of Technology, Shirpur, Dist. Dhule. 331 blood donors donated blood enthusiastically.

With the same enthusiasm, on 14th September 2023, 304 blood donors voluntarily donated blood in the mega blood donation camp in the premises of Late Mukesh Patel Technology Park, Shirpur campus. Shirpur Education Society ‘s Vice-Chairman Shri Rajgopal Bhandari, Dr. J. B. Patil, Director, R. C. Patel Institute of Technology, Dy. Director Dr. P. J. Deore along with institute’s teaching staff and Jalgaon Red Cross Chairman Mr. Vinod Biyani and Mrs. Ujwala Varma , PRO were present on the occasion.

On this occasion Youth / Junior Red Cross committee Chairman Dr. Aparna Makasare, Mrs. Ujwala Varma – PRO, Jalgaon Red Cross along with Prof. Dr. Alaknanda Page, Dr. Kuldeep More and Dr. Hemangi Pawade of the Dr. Prakashchand Jain Homoeopathy Medical College, Hospital & Research were present.

Also blood donation camp was organised to mark the birthday of the College Chairman Shri Manoj Kavdiya. Total 18 units collected and haemoglobin test was conducted for 48 students

Rally by ambulance owners and drivers of the Jalgaon city to promote blood donation

On 17th August 2023 on the occasion of Independence Day, a rally was organized by the Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch in collaboration with all the ambulance owners and drivers of the Jalgaon city to promote blood donation and inform all the common citizens about the world's safest Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAT) technology in the blood center. Youth Red Cross volunteers of Government Medical College participated enthusiastically in this event.

On 21st& 22nd July 2023 mobile health unit was deployed for general health check-up camps organised by IRCS Jalgaon District Branch in association with Govt. Homeopathy Medical College, Jalgaon at Raver & Faizpur villages. Around 900 people were examined and homeopathic & allopathic medicines were distributed.

Celebration of 70th Foundation day of the IRCS Jalgaon District Branch

On 13th July 2023 to commemorate the 70th Foundation day of the IRCS Jalgaon District Branch the IFRC/IRCS, NHQ, New Delhi supported and facilitated by IRCS Maharashtra State Branch Mobile Testing Van was inaugurated at the hands of the Jalgaon Red Cross President & Hon’ble Collector Shri Aman Mittal (IAS). On this occasion he urged that the Mobile Testing Van and the earlier Mobile Health Unit should be deployed in rural areas for the needy.
All new members of social organisations like IMA, CA association, Lions, Inner Wheel, JCI, and Rotaract etc were felicitated. Jalgaon city Ambulance drivers were honoured for their dedicated services by distributing health kits i.e hygiene kit, pulse oxymeter, manual ventilator, hand wash and hand sanitizer. Jalgaon Red Cross office bearers, committee members and staff were present during the inauguration, felicitation & distribution ceremonies.

Blood donation camp in support of Shasan Aplya Dari

In support of “Shasan Aplya Dari" an initiative of Government of Maharashtra, IRCS Jalgaon District Branch organized a blood donation camp in the Mobile Blood Collection Van on 28th June 2023 and received spontaneous participation of blood donors. Total 52 units were collected.

World Blood Donor Day celebrated on 14th June 2023

On 14th June 2023 on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day Bhangale Gold (Jewellers) & Rotary Club Jalgaon West jointly organised a blood donation camp through IRCS Jalgaon Blood Centre. 66 blood donors spontaneously donated blood in this camp. Bhangale Gold management took the initiative and motivated all the members, employees and customers of the group to actively participate.
On this occasion Bhangale Gold Directors Dr. Shivaji Bhangale & Shri. Sagar Bhangale, Rotary Club of Jalgaon West President Mr. Sunil Sukhwani, Project Head Mahesh Soni & Jalgaon Red Cross Chairman Shri. Vinod Biyani were present.
Also a blood donation camp was organized at Head Post Office, Jalgaon. 25 Post office officials and employees participated in this blood donation camp.

International Nurse Day was celebrated on 12th May, 2023

International Nurse Day was celebrated on 12th May, 2023. Nursing staff of government medical college and hospital, Jalgaon were honoured by the Branch Chairman, Mr. Vinod Biyani with his managing committee members and appreciated their dedication and unconditional service to mankind. Further expressed and hoped that nursing fraternity in state of Maharashtra be an inspiration to others. 240 pulse oximeters were distributed to the nurses.

World Red Cross Day celebrated on 8th May, 2023

The World Red Cross Day was celebrated by IRCS Jalgaon District Branch organizing various activities from 1st May to 9th May 2023.

On 1st May 2023 blood donation camp was organised at Peoples Bank, Swami Samarth Kendra, Pratapnagar, Mohadi and Mehrun. Total 107 units of blood were collected.

On 2nd May 2023 with the support of Rotary Club Jalgaon Midtown Jalgaon Red Cross distributed 30 nutritional kits to TB patents under Nikshay Mitra.

On 3rd May 2023 Hygiene kits were distributed to 35 para medical staff of various hospitals of Jalgaon.

On 4th May 2023 26 grandparents (Senior Citizens) of the homeless shelter centre run under the Municipal Corporation, Jalgaon were given medicine and protein biscuits after health check-up.

On 5th May2023 “Blood Centre at Your Door” blood donation camp was organised at Kavyaratnavati chowk, Jalgaon. Total 18 units of blood were collected.

On 6th May 2023 Pulse oximeters were distributed to 192 doctors of Godavari Medical College, Jalgaon.

On 7th May 2023 a counselling workshop was organised at Children Remand Home, Swatantrya Chowk, Jalgaon.

8th May 2023 World Thalassemia Day was also observed. Celebrated by providing tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids etc. to the disabled brothers by Jalgaon Red Cross and distributing hygiene kits to the children suffering from Thalassemia.

Also Mrs. Sarla Date received an excellent service award, which is given annually through Red Cross for this year. The technical supervisor who has been serving in the Red Cross Center for the last 27 years, Mr. Tilottam Ramesh Joshi and driver Shri. Anwar Khan was felicitated with a memento and a cheque.

9th May 2023 a health check-up camp was conducted by Jalgaon Red Cross in the tribal area of Tonde in Dhule district. On this occasion, 42 people were examined and 33 units of blood collected.

This was received from Canadian Red Cross through IRCS National Headquarters, New Delhi & IRCS Maharashtra State Branch. The Branch office bearers will endeavour to serve the urban, rural and interior taluka areas through this van.

Distribution of 600 Notebooks to students

On 20 January 2023 Notebooks were distributed to the students of Pratibha Primary & Secondary School and Vidyaniketan Secondary School in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society and Merico Industries, Jalgaon. Principal and teachers of the school were present on this occasion. Public Relation Officer Mrs. Ujwala Varma guided about the cleanliness of the school as well as personal hygiene. Total 600 booklets were distributed.

Adoption of 140 TB patients and distributed nutritional kits

On 18th January 2023 Indian Red Cross Society Jalgaon District Branch adopted 140 TB patients and distributed nutritional kits under the Pradhan Mantri TB Eradication program of Nikshaya Mitra Yojana with the support of R.C. Bafna Foundation Trust. On this occasion, District Collector and Red Cross President Mr. Aman Mittal, City Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Ram Rawlani, W. H. O. Consultant Dr. Harshad Lande, Mrs. Nayantaraji Bafna and Jalgaon Red Cross office bearers were present.

Two-day first aid training was conducted at Raymond Company Jalgaon

From 9th to 10th January 2023 a two-day first aid training was conducted by IRCS Jalgaon District Branch at Raymond Company Jalgaon. The training was conducted by trainer Mr. Ghanshyam Mahajan, Dr. Rajesh Suralkar and Mrs. Ujwala Varma. Participants were also given certificates.

Inauguration ceremony of the advanced blood donor couch

On 30th December 2022 IRCS Jalgaon District Branch had the inauguration ceremony of the advanced blood donor couch from the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) through IRCS National Headquarters, New Delhi. The District Collector and Red Cross President Mr. Aman Mittal and District Civil Surgeon Dr. Kiran Patil donated blood at this event inspiring the youth and community. Jalgaon Red Cross Chairman Mr. Vinod Biyani, Adv. Sagar Chitre, Pro. Shama Saraf, Mr. Shyamkant Jagtap, and Mr. Rahul Patil also donated blood. On this occasion, Government Medical College Dean Dr. Yogita Baviskar was also present.

Junior Red Cross branches established in two schools of Jalgaon district

On 29th December 2022 Junior Red Cross branches were established in two schools of Jalgaon district which is Zilla Parishad Primary Education Mandir, Lasgaon, Tel. Pachora and Secondary School, Pathri, Dist. Jalgaon. Public Relation Officer of Red Cross Mrs. Ujwala Varma informed about the various activities implemented through Junior Red Cross and guided the students. Also, booklets received from Merico Industries, Jalgaon were distributed to the needy students of both the schools.

Apda Mitra Training Program is being started through District Disaster Management Authority Jalgaon
