A stranded 14 year old boy was sent back to his parents
6th May 2014

On the occasion of World Red Cross Day when Red Cross had set up a stall at Churchgate Station, Mr. T.C. Chacko, our Office Assistant, found an 8th standard boy from Kerala walking aimlessly. After talking to him we learnt that he had gone to his school to collect his examination results and was ragged by the other boys on account of his obesity. He therefore ran away from home and landed in Mumbai. The staff members coaxed him to reveal where he came from and to share his residential telephone number. The boy was served breakfast and lunch and then convinced to return to his family. The latter were contacted and a relative took him back to Kerala. His happy family telephoned to thank Red Cross when he returned home.
