Uttarakhand Flood Relief

Uttarakhand State Branch accepted our proposal of constructing Disaster Relief Shelter in the affected areas after the cloudburst on 16th & 17th June 2013 which affected 12 of their 13 districts. A Disaster Relief Shelter for the displaced during emergencies, which could also be used for other activities at all times such as running of a school, holding first aid classes, workshops & other programmes.

The shelter towards rehabilitation was constructed at Ukhimath in Kedarnath Valley, Rudraprayag District which was badly affected and these districts are sensitive to disasters,from the funds released by Maharashtra State Branch through donations from the Cathedral & John Cannon School, Mumbai.

Apart from rehabilitation activity, relief materials sent included Medicines, Tents, Blankets, Warm clothes, Dari, Bed Sheets, Dry Foods, Sanitary Napkins, Readymade garments (for Gents, ladies & children), Milk Powder, ORS Pkts, Generators and Bajaj LED Solar lanterns.
